Tip #1 – Water early!

By watering your lawn earlier in the day, it avoids the harsh sun or wind that tends to accelerate evaporation. Not only is it better for the grass, but easier on your water bill! Keep in mind, night time watering isn’t always good as it can invite disease.

Tip #2 – Water evenly!

Ensure your entire lawn gets the water! To avoid any dry or saturated areas, use small containers on your lawn while you water as an easy test! By comparing the amount of water in the containers, it will quickly tell you if you are watering evenly or not.

Tip #3 – Water slowly!

Who doesn’t like a slow soak? Your grass does too! Watering slowly allows for the best absorption and less chance for the water to pool and simply runoff. Your roots will thank you!

Tip #4 – Water well but less often!

For a beautiful lawn, water about one inch per week split into about 2-3 watering sessions throughout the week. Roots will grow deeper and stronger. Don’t forget to account for the amount of rain in that one inch too!
